The birch is the focus but this vintage implement of severe girlish punishment is rarely found nowadays so the cane, which took over from the birch, and also the paddle are included. Aha! Another lovely little drawing from the same edition of Roue. This naughty girl is putting up quite a struggle while teacher is trying to give her fat little bum a nice tawsing - but one just knows her wriggles will be in vain and her bottom (and her thighs by the look of it)will eventually receive the lovely, long, hard thrashing the young madam obviously deserves.
One can title this drawing. "Twigs of Pain". When a naughty maid, must pay the price of spilling the master's favorite drink. A good birching is given to her on her naked rear end.
